Several NC ferry runs suspended to allow repairs

MANNS HARBOR, N.C. — Several ferry runs to North Carolina’s Outer Banks are suspended while workers fix problems with one of the vessels.

The state Department of Transportation has announced that several runs at the Swan Quarter-Ocracoke and Cedar Island-Ocracoke routes will be suspended for several days while mechanics work on the Motor Vessel Pamlico.

The 1 p.m. run between Ocracoke and Swan Quarter, and the 5 p.m. run between Swan Quarter and Ocracoke are suspended. Also suspended are the 7:30 a.m. run from Ocracoke to Cedar Island and the 10:30 a.m. run from Cedar Island to Ocracoke.

A statement says the schedule will return to normal as soon as the Pamlico is repaired.
