Shallotte man charged with rape, kidnapping, attempted murder

BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — A Brunswick County man is accused of breaking into a home, raping, terrorizing, and attempting the kill the person inside.

According to arrest warrants, Lavonshea Fletcher, 29, broke into a residence on Tryon Road in Shallotte around 9:30 Saturday night.

Warrants state Fletcher sexually assaulted the person inside.

Warrants also state Fletcher restrained the victim, and tried to kill the victim, which left the victim seriously injured.

Fletcher is charged with second degree forcible rape, first degree burglary, first degree kidnapping, felony breaking and entering with the intent to terrorize, and attempted murder.

He is in the Brunswick County jail under a $2,000,000 bond.
