Shark bites man off of Masonboro Island

NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC (WWAY)- A shark bite sent a man to the hospital Saturday.

According to Facebook, Carson Jewell was body surfing near Masonboro Island when the incident happened.

He was treated at New Hanover Regional Medical Center where he received several stitches.

He was released shortly after.
