The Shell ‘postpones’ Nelly concert for Sunday

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The Shell announced Friday that the Nelly concert scheduled for Sunday has been postponed.

In a Facebook post, the venue management said the decision is “heartbreaking” but made the decision based on safety of concert attendees, concert staff and the artists performing due to the weather.

The cancellation is due to dangerous weather conditions in the forecast combined with weather complications to the setup of the concert Saturday and Sunday. While scattered storms are possible Saturday, Sunday is forecast to be rain-free.

The post said if the event is canceled and you bought tickets online or over the phone, you will automatically receive a refund your order to the same card used for purchase. All refunds should be received within 7-10 business days if it’s canceled.
