Shelter in place lifted at two New Hanover County schools after Shotspotter alert

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) – Virgo Middle School and Johnson PreK had to shelter in place this morning, after Shotspotter indicated possible shots fired in the area.

Shotspotter went off at 10:52 a.m.

Wilmington police say they also received 911 calls.

Police searched the area. So far, they haven’t found any property damage or anyone hurt.

Virgo and Johnson PreK lifted the shelter in place around 11:30 a.m.
