Sheriff fires CSI deputy for violating policies, procedures

NEW HANOVER CO., NC (WWAY) — A New Hanover County Sheriff’s deputy is off the job.

Sheriff Ed McMahon fired Deputy Victoria McNally Walsh, who was a part of the Crime Scene Investigation Unit.

A Sheriff’s Office spokesperson said an internal investigation found Deputy Walsh had violated three company policies and procedures.

A joint investigation with the District Attorney’s Office found no evidence was compromised.
