Sheriff’s Office: Man shot in the back

BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — The Brunswick County Sheriff’s office is investigating after they say someone shot a man in the back.

Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Emily Flax said the victim called 9-1-1 around 6 Wednesday evening. It happened in the Longwood area of Carlon Road in Brunswick County.

EMS took the man to New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington with non-life threatening injuries.

The victim said he doesn’t know who shot him and witnesses were unable to give an account of what happened.
