Shooting suspect returned to Columbus County to face charges


COLUMBUS COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — The suspect accused of shooting a man who interrupted a burglary is back in Columbus County to face charges.

Investigators say Kason Jamel Harry, 33, of Myrtle Beach, broke into a home on Dothan Road in Tabor City on September 22. The homeowner drove up and saw Harry walk outside.

Deputies say Harry tried to get into the man’s car and then shot him in the arm as he tried to drive away.  Deputies released surveillance photos of the suspect.

Earlier this month, U.S. Marshals arrested Harry in Horry County.

Harry was brought back to Columbus County yesterday.

He is charged with the following:

  • Assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill
  • Two county of discharging weapon into occupied property
  • Breaking and/or entering
  • Larceny after break/enter

Harry is in the Columbus County Detention Center under $175,000 bond.
