Shots fired in Wilmington

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Wilmington Police are investigating shots fired early this morning. New Hanover County Dispatch says the call came in just before 1:00 A.M.

It happened on the 1300 block of Ann St. near Downtown Wilmington.

Police say investigators found 10 9mm shell casings at the scene.

Witnesses reported a white truck speeding away from the area.

WPD has been keeping an eye on local hospitals to see if anyone checked in with gunshot wounds, but so far there are no victims reported.

Investigation of this incident is ongoing.
