Silver Alert cancelled for Brunswick County woman

BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — At 5:30 p.m., the N.C. Department of public safety has cancelled the silver alert for a Brunswick County woman.

Margaret Ward is believed to be suffering from dementia or some other cognitive impairment. Officials are asking the public to be on the lookout for her.

Ward is described as an 81-year-old white woman with medium length grey hair and brown eyes. She is around 5′ 6″ tall and weighs around 165 pounds. She may be wearing a dark colored button up sweater and light pink capri pants.

Officials say she was last seen at 5291 Kingfisher Drive in Shallotte. She may be in a 2007 beige Ford Taurus with NC plates, XSH-2099.
