WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Six residents were displaced Thursday evening after a fire broke out at an apartment building near the intersection of 9th and Orange streets, according to the Wilmington Fire Department.

Firefighters were dispatched to the residential structure at approximately 5 p.m. on Thursday, July 9. Crews acted quickly to contain the fire to the apartment where it started, preventing the flames from spreading to neighboring units.
