Cape Fear River Watch holds sixth annual LakeFest
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Learning and fun can go hand in hand.
Just look at Cape Fear River Watch as a true example of that.
The organization held their sixth annual LakeFest at Greenfield Lake.
The event included many fun attractions like live animals, face painting, fish and water fowl identification, and so much more.
Lake Fest is geared towards educating kids about the significance of taking care of water and minimizing pollution.
“At Cape Fear River Watch, we’re focused on the water quality of the Cape Fear river and all the watersheds that surround that. We know that these kids are future teachers, future politicians, future scientists, who are going to be the ones who need to have this information. They are armed with this knowledge, so that we can have some sort of sustainable future.”
Cape Fear River Watch has been working to protect and improve the water quality of the lower Cape Fear river basin through education, advocacy, and action.
