Skinny Dipping – It’s Time to Strip Down Nude in Brunswick County
Gloria Waryas is a Whispering Pines nudist. She’s also a board member of the American Association for Nude Recreation. She told WWAY ” I think it’s phenomenal WWAY’s John Rendleman won the award for AANR- East and he’s been nominated for the national award as well. We’ll find out about the national award in August.”
Whispering Pines will participate in the Guinness Brook of World Record Skinny Dip on Saturday. Last year 13,648 people bared all nationwide. 260 of those were in Brunswick County. Gloria Waryas says she anticipates a larger turnout at this weekend’s skinny dip event than the inaugural event held last year. “Here in Whispering Pines we’ll have an open house. The gates will open at 10:30. It’s an absolute wonderful experience for anybody. Our saying this year is it’s hip to skinny dip. The skinny dip itself will start at 3pm Eastern Nudist Time.”
If you’d like to participate make sure you’re there by 2pm in order to leave time to register for the event in order to be counted. Other than your clothes, what else do you have to lose by attending?
Whispering Pines is located between Ocean Isle Beach and Longwood in Brunswick County. For directions or more information check out www.whisperingpinesnudistresort.com
The Eastern region of the American Association for Nude Recreation has awarded WWAY’s John Rendleman first place for the best television/radio news story on nudism by a non-nudist. John’s report in 2009 featured Whispering Pines. The national AANR winner will be announced in August at the AANR national convention.
