Small company makes big move

PENDER COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — A small Pender County company is making a pretty big move. Tank Fab in Rocky Point is transporting several large pieces of equipment to Hope, AR. The 160-foot-long equipment is used to preserve railroad cross ties. It took about six to eight weeks to build and it will take about three to four days to get it to Arkansas, and with such a big container to move also comes along with a huge crew as well.

“A project this size, we’ve had 12 to 15 employees since the beginning of January, and we still probably got another three to four months of work still left to do,” said Tank Fab’s Jeff Lippincott.

The company is extremely happy about this project, because it says this is the biggest project the company has ever done.

Crews planned to leave for Arkansas today, but because of the size of the load, they have to check their route for any possible obstacles, including hills, overpasses and detours.
