Smoke in southern New Hanover Co. from controlled burn

WILMINGTON, NC (NEWS RELEASE FROM THE WILMINGTON FIRE DEPARTMENT) — Smoke on the south side of the City/County is from a control burn in Brunswick County.

We have had reports of this smoke being heavy in some areas.

We encourage citizens to not call 911 unless they see flames.
