Some Carolina Beach residents forced to change addresses
CAROLINA BEACH — Dozens of Carolina Beach residents will soon have to change their addresses.
The Carolina Beach Town Council recently approved the change to correct home addresses that don’t comply with New Hanover County’s address manual.
The project is broken into four phases.
The first phase will affect 77 homes around the Carolina Sands sub-division.
Town Manager Tim Owens said, “There will be some inconvenience with this, nobody wants to change anybody’s address, but it’s very important for public safety.”
The new change is designed to improve 911 response times to homes in emergency situations.
Each home affected by the address change will be notified by mail.
