Some New Hanover County kids are brushing up on their etiquette
Etiquette; it may be difficult to master, but some New Hanover County kids are up to the challenge.
Sunday, the Cape Fear Junior Cotillion hosted their etiquette and ballroom classes for children. It is part of a six week course to teach greeting skills, table manners, and ballroom dancing. The goal: to provide kids from second grade to eighth grade with life long skills.
“We learned how to introduce ourselves on the telephone and if you are introducing yourself to someone how to look them straight in the eye,” said Wilmington’s Casey Chalmers.
Zachary Weinstein of Wilmington said, “I used to have bad table manners, so in this class I was going to learn table manners; that’s why pretty much I went here. I didn’t know we were going to learn all these dances but that was pretty fun.”
