Some put the labor in Labor Day
Of course not everyone has Labor Day off, including us in the news business, but there are some places known for being open any day of the year; places like convenience stores.
“It doesn’t bother me to work on Labor Day,” said Monte Tyler, a cashier at a local Scotchman.
Monte Tyler’s workday started at 8:00 a.m. Labor Day morning. He’ll clock nine hours before he can join the many who are off on Labor Day.
“It’s slow in the morning, but it then speeds up in the afternoon,” Tyler explained.
Tyler is glad he can help people out. He knows while families are barbequing, they’ll rely on those like him who are working despite the holiday.
