Sound of the bell heard at Wilmington’s Polar Express
Several local children were treated to a Christmas fantasy this weekend at the Wilmington Railroad Museum. The Polar Express paid a special visit to the Port City as the Christmas-time favorite was read to a captivated audience.
The guest readers included Marcy Cuevas and Steve Rondinaro. Some children came dressed in pajamas, true to the story, and were happy to see the Christmas tale come to life.
“My favorite part was its like going to the North Pole,” said Truman Lyles.
“My favorite part was like going to the North pole too,” added Lea Lyles.
At the end of the story, the group got a special visit from Old Saint Nick, who had a jingle bell for all and was ready to listen to everybody’s Christmas wishes.
If you missed it, you have more chances to catch the Polar Express next weekend.
