South Brunswick HS student in custody after allegedly making threat of mass violence at school
BOILING SPRING LAKES, NC (WWAY) — A high school student is in custody after allegedly making threats about an act of mass violence at a Brunswick County School.
Court documents show Tevin Devon Lee, 18, is charged with one count of false report of mass violence on educational property. A magistrate set Lee’s bond at $10,000 bond.
School district spokeswoman Jessica Swencki says students and staff at South Brunswick Middle and South Brunswick High schools were ordered to shelter in place earlier today after administrators intercepted a written threat intercepted. The lockdown lasted about an hour until 2 p.m.
Swencki says at no time were any student or staff in danger.
