Southport hospital close to $2 million fundraising goal
SOUTHPORT, NC (WWAY) — The Dosher Memorial Hospital Foundation is trying to raise $2 million, and at a reception Friday, announced they’ve already raised a large portion of it.
$1.5 million has been raised during the private portion of this campaign, which they’re calling “Helping Hands for a Healthy Community.”
That money came from contributions by more than 50 private donors and 90 percent of the Dosher hospital staff.
During the reception, Dosher also unveiled a new history wall in the hospital lobby to mark the kickoff of the campaign.
“This has been a hospital that has a legacy of giving, a community with a legacy of giving, and so we just want to build on it and continue our story and the legacy of this great hospital,” said Lynda Stanley, the president of the Dosher Memorial Hospital Foundation.
Stanley says that if you want to get involved with the public donation phase of this campaign, you just need to contact the Foundation office.
They’re looking for both donors and volunteers.
