Independence Day will take on new meaning for many North Carolina residents. Friday’s the day they become US citizens.
A naturalization ceremony takes place Friday at the Fort Johnson Garrison lawn in Southport. America’s newest citizens will take the Oath of Allegiance at 4:30 p.m.
The ceremony is part of a series of patriotic ceremonies around the country this week to pay tribute to Independence Day in the United States.
