note: Jacksonville is considered a Wilmington team in the BB&T Jamboree. Why? It’s a long story, but Jacksonville counts toward the Wilmington score. On Friday they didn’t score though.

Also, in case you haven’t heard, starting August 20 Trot Nixon will be the co-host of WWAY’s 5th Quarter football show. Trot was an all-state QB at New Hanover in the early 1990s. He’s best known though for being a Major League outfielder for the Red Sox, Indians and Mets. Trot Nixon even won a World Series title in 2004 with Boston.
