Coaching Carousel Continues – Wake Forest Fires Dino Gaudio

From WGHP TV – Dino Gaudio has been fired as head coach of the men’s basketball team at Wake Forest University, according to a source close to the program.

The Winston-Salem Journal, citing a person close to the basketball program, said Gaudio will not be given the final four years on his contract, which was extended before the start of the 2009-10 season.

The school has scheduled a news conference on the subject for 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

Gaudio is 61-31 in the three seasons he has coached the Demon Deacons after taking over for Skip Prosser, who died suddenly in 2007. Wake Forest has made the NCAA Tournament the past two seasons, beating Texas before losing to Kentucky in the second round this season.
