Hoggard’s Brad Busby Named Player of the Week for Week 2

Last Friday Hoggard beat New Bern 28-16. It was a great team effort, and individually, quarterback Brad Busby was the man ! …
The senior has a great arm, but he literally took over the game with his ability to elude defenders and break tackles. He rushed for over 200 yards and scored 4 touchdowns on 22 carries! That’s more than enough to earn our Chick Fil-A team of the week award. Hoggard head coach Scott Braswell said: “It’s kinda what we expected out of Brad, we used him more rushing than we thought, but we felt like he was the one guy who could sustain some of our drives especially in the second half.”

Brad’s touchdowns seemed like artwork. They were a thing of beauty, but which one of the four was the best? “Everybody talks about the one where I broke a bunch of tackles, the one at the end I basically got knocked out and stumbled into the endzone, but my favorite one was at the end of the game because it sealed the deal. My buddy Logan had a good block and it put the nail in the coffin.”

Due to Hurricane Hanna Hoggard will play on Thursday night on the road vs. Harnett Central. Don’t be surprised in Brad throws more than he passes. “Last week I was sorta forced to run, maybe this week I’ll have to throw some more, so whatever happens, happens”
