Whiteville Post 137 remains undefeated at state tournament

The state championship for American Legion baseball started with 8 teams in Asheboro. After 3 days of play 8 teams are already home, while one team just continues to roll. That team is Whiteville Post 137. They’re the only unbeaten team still alive in the tournament after beating Randolph County on Monday 4-1.

Houston Barnes threw a complete game for Post 137. Barnes attends East Columbus. Whiteville will play Cherryville on Monday at 7pm. Whiteville is guaranteed a slot in Wednesday’s finale.
