‘Spring to Adopt’ animal adoption fair
WHITEVILLE, NC (WWAY) — Find your new furry friend at the “Spring to Adopt” animal adoption fair in Whiteville.
Gurganus Feed and Grain Company is hosting the event for the Columbus County Animal Shelter. Gurganus will be giving anyone who adopts a pet at the event $10 worth of any animal supplies.
Cats, dogs, puppies, and kittens will all be available for adoption.
Male dogs can be adopted for $85 dollars and female dogs cost $105. The price includes the rabies vaccination, the parvo and distemper vaccines, as well as a certificate to have the animal spayed or neutered.
Male cats cost $55 and female cats cost $75, the price includes spaying or neutering and rabies vaccinations.
The event will be held Saturday, April 16 from 9 a.m. to 12 a.m. at Gurganus Feed and Grain Company at 138 E. Commerce St. Whiteville.
Gurganus will be donating 1000 lbs of food to the animal shelter. Shelter manager Joey prince says, “A shelter of our size is heavily dependent on community involvement, so this is exactly the type of event we need, especially as our shelter is very close to full.”
