Staffer: Rep. Coble released from hospital

GREENSBORO, NC (AP) — US Rep. Howard Coble is home from a Greensboro hospital after recuperating from the effects of a respiratory ailment.

Coble’s Greensboro office manager Kathy McClellan said Tuesday the Republican congressman was discharged from Moses Cone Memorial Hospital. McClellan says Coble will talk about his illness and recovery at a news conference Wednesday.

Coble had been receiving physical therapy at the Greensboro hospital since Dec. 21. He was originally hospitalized in Washington on Dec. 13 with an upper respiratory illness that depleted his sodium levels.

The 80-year-old representative was first elected in 1984 to represent the district around the eastern and southern part of the Triad.
