Standoff at NC house ends with arrest
DURHAM — Police say a seven-hour standoff with a kidnapping suspect has ended at a North Carolina house.
Multiple media outlets reported that Durham police said the incident started Sunday afternoon when a woman called 911 and said her boyfriend shot at her. The man ran into the house when officers arrived and refused to come outside.
The woman and her child were able to escape.
Police ended the standoff about 12:30 a.m. Monday by lobbing tear gas into the house and rushing inside to arrest the man. His name was not immediately released.
