Star News classifieds down by thirty percent

The New York Times Company is battling along with the rest of the newspaper industry to remain upright during the financial meltdown.

Classified ad sales are down nearly 30 percent, thanks in large part to internet competition. The Star News, which is owned by the Times, has also seen a decrease in ad revenue as well.

On a positive note, circulation saw a two percent increase.
