Starnews: Key developer behind Bald Head Island dies at 94

BALD HEAD ISLAND, NC (StarNewsOnline.Com) — George P. Mitchell died last Friday in Galveston, Texas.
The developer who, with his family, spearheaded the development of Bald Head Island.
In 1983, Mitchell and his family formed Bald Head Island Ltd., which purchased the island , setting aside 10,000 acres of marsh and uplands as a permanent nature preserve.
Mitchell was 94.
