State lifts GlenCare sanctions

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The Wilmington assisted living facility in danger of losing its license will be allowed to stay open.

The state suspended admissions and threatened to shut down GlenCare of Wilmington after an investigation revealed multiple violations. Those violations included failure to investigate potential abuse and failure to document missing drugs.

After a follow up investigation the state ruled that GlenCare has made progress to fix the problems and has lifted the suspension of admissions and the intent to revoke. We will bring you the details of that investigation as soon as the become available.
