State Port of Wilmington will test emergecy siren Friday

On Friday, April 23 at 12:00 noon, the NC State Ports Authority will conduct a routine full scale test of the Port of Wilmington emergency notification siren. The test is expected to last approximately five minutes and will have the sound of a volunteer fire department siren.

Businesses and residents within a one-mile radius of the State Port will hear the siren and receive an automated telephone “Reverse 911” notification from the New Hanover County 911 Call Center.

No action by residents is required as a result of this test.
