State Supreme Court to hear killers’ cases
The North Carolina Supreme Court will hear the cases of two convicted killers who were set to go free late last year. On February 16 the high court will hear the cases of Alford Jones and Fay Brown.
In two lower courts, lawyers successfully argued that the convicted killers had served their life sentence when factoring in good behavior credits. Jones is serving his sentence at New Hanover Correctional. Brown is being held at a separate facility.
