STORMTRACK 3: Tornado Watch canceled for several counties

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The National Weather Service has canceled a Tornado Watch for Brunswick, New Hanover, Pender, Onslow, and Duplin Counties Monday. A watch means conditions are favorable for tornado development.

A strong storm system continues to stream warm and moisture-rich air into the Carolinas. This is creating a rather unstable atmosphere conductive of thunderstorm development. The main severe weather threat with this system is damaging winds with gusts up to 30 mph possible within storms. An isolated tornado cannot be ruled out.
