Structure fire at the Glen Apartments across from UNCW

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Dispatch confirms there is an active structure fire at the Glen Apartments on Filmore Drive across from UNCW.

Assistant Fire Chief Rick Pearsall said they received the call around 10:30 p.m. and saw fire along the roof line of four apartments when they got to the scene. Crews were able to enter at first but had to get out because of safety.

Pearsall said there was a family trapped inside but were able to get out when crews arrived.
