Student faces charges for allegedly bringing loaded gun to Laney High School

NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — A student is facing charges for allegedly brining a loaded gun to Laney High School.
A New Hanover County Schools spokeswoman said the incident happened on Thursday and parents were notified that day.
Lt. Jerry Brewer with the New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office said the 16-year-old faces two charges: felony possession of a weapon on campus and possession of a weapon by a minor.
NHSO said the weapon was a polymer gun, more commonly known as a ghost gun.
