Student shot at Charlotte charter school, expected to survive

CHARLOTTE (AP) — A student at a Charlotte charter school has been shot in the shoulder, but is expected to survive.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg police said officers arrested a suspect not long after Wednesday’s shooting, which took place in the parking lot of Crossroads Charter High School around 10 a.m.

The school’s principal tells WSOC-TV the shooting happened as students were being dismissed for the day due to testing. They were brought back inside after the shooting.
