Students at Ashley learning to budget money

Students at Ashley High School are learning how to make their money stretch.

In a family and consumer science class, students are learning how to do more on tighter budgets.

Their lessons in life consist of finding the best deals on products for producing culinary art in the classroom.

“We talk about budget issues and such and I tell them that it’s important to comparison shop. I do that, I check online specials and weekly specials and make sure I’m getting the best buy,” said Angela Rigsbee, a culinary arts teacher.

Students are expected to walk away from the class with a good grasp on running a household on a budget.
