Students showcase films at festival

WILMINGTON — Students from all over the country are in Wilmington, to showcase films they’ve made.

They’re being featured in the first ever scene first student film festival. The movies started premiering this afternoon.

John Moore is one of a few local film makers debuting his movie at the scene first film festival.

“Lemonade Stand is my senior thesis project that I’ve been working on since last semester,” Moore said. “Essentially the movie is, the two main characters are a seven year old boy and a sixty year old man.”

At Scene First first-time filmmakers get a chance to showcase their work to industry veterans.

A run-in with the right person could give these creative minds their big break.

Over 100 movies will be shown through the weekend.
