Students’ sweet revenge supports diabetes research
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — We’ve all had teachers we’d like to hit right in the kisser, but that’s usually frowned upon. But today at Cape Fear Community College, throwing pies at professors was encouraged.
For a small fee of two dollars a pie, students got faculty and staff a little messy, but not just for giving them bad grades. The money raised will go toward the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
Students used this opportunity to take revenge for themselves and others, including their mothers.
“She had him as an instructor and didn’t really enjoy his class so much I don’t think. So, that one was for my mom,” Vincent Squitieri said after tossing a pie at a teacher.
Today’s event is the third fundraiser in three weeks for JDRF put on by CFCC, and it’s been the most popular. Throwing pies raised almost $200 for diabetes research.
