Study: People moving to North Carolina
ST. LOUIS (AP) — A study by United Van lines says Americans are still moving to North Carolina at a higher rate than any other state in the country.
The nation’s largest mover of household goods has been tracking moves since 1977. United spokeswoman Maya Lunnermann says the study reviewed nearly 213,000 household moves handled by the company last year.
North Carolina had the highest inbound moving rate for the second straight year. Nevada was second, followed by the District of Columbia, Oregon and Alabama.
Michigan had the highest rate of out-of-state moves, followed by North Dakota. New Jersey was third, followed by New York and Illinois.
The study did not try determine the reasons for the moves.
