Successful fundraiser for the WFD Fallen Firefighter’s Memorial
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The numbers are in from Saturday’s fundraiser to benefit the Fallen Firefighter’s Memorial in Wilmington.
Organizers say it was a great day for the fundraiser and that every hour, a different fire truck and crew showed up and had lunch at the store. They also say firefighter’s families, friends and neighbors also came in to support the fundraiser.
But that’s not all. The Sun Coast Cruisers classic car club, the Blue Knights motorcycle club, along with several customers from the Leland and Hampstead areas also stopped in to show support and at the end of the day, Trolly Stop on Fountain Drive raised $1,000 for the Wilmington Firefighters Foundation where the money will be used for the fallen fighters memorial.
Trolly Stop donates 50% of sales several times a year. Friends of the Battleship and Step Up for Soldiers have benefited from the community fundraisers at the restaurant.
