SUNDAY: Hundreds of bikes ready to roll as hundreds of motorcycles ride
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — 254 bicycles are ready to be given to local kids in the community who don’t have one.
Mike Mason, Assistant Director for the local Carolina Coast Harley-Davidson HOG Chapter, says they collected enough donations to purchase 254 bicycles and that the Chapter met a few Sundays ago to put them all together. He says they anticipate between 500 to 700 motorcycles taking part in the 25th Annual Toys for Tots Motorcycle ride. The police escorted ride is expected to be the biggest year yet.
Carolina Coast Harley-Davidson organizers say all make and model motorcycles are invited to participate. If you don’t own a Motorcycle, you are invited to watch the parade of bikes leave and have a free lunch if you bring a new, unwrapped toy between 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. Sunday morning.
The ride will disrupt traffic a bit. The route is as follows:
- Start at Carolina Coast H-D, 6620 Market St.
- Right on Station Rd
- Right on Military Cutoff.
- Continue on to Oleander.
- Continue on to Wooster St.
- Right on 3rd St.
- Continue on Martin Luther King
- Left on Market
- Return to Carolina Coast H-D.
