Surveillance camera catches tip jar theft

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The lunch hour was busy for one Wilmington pizza parlor, but not in a way you might think.

The owner of Princess Pizza says a man finished eating and then swiped the tip jar on his way out. The owner checked his surveillance video, went outside, and saw the man sitting at a bus stop.

He called the robber back into the restaurant to question him.

After seeing himself on the video, the robber allegedly hit the owner’s wife and ran away.

Police arrested 23-year-old Anthony Leon Harris. He is charged with larceny and assault.
