Suspect in deadly Shallotte crash facing new charges

BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — The teen driver accused in a crash that killed another teen is facing new charges.

According to arrest reports, Devin Harris, 18, is facing charges of reckless driving and unauthorized used of a motor vehicle. He was booked and released on Monday. Harris was already charged with misdemeanor death by motor vehicle.

Caleb Smith, 13, died in an overnight crash in February on Bridges Road in Shallotte. Harris’ brother, Justice Harris, was also in the car and hurt.
