Suspect indicted for elderly woman’s murder

BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — A Brunswick County grand jury has indicted a man for the murder of an elderly woman earlier this month.

Linnie Mae Ward, 86, was found dead in her home in the Longwood Community November 13.

A grand jury indicted Richard Hugh Grissett, 51, for Ward’s murder, along with burglary, robbery and possession of a firearm by a felon.
