Suspect linked to pipe bombs to remain in custody

PHILADELPHIA, PA (WWAY) — A man connected to bombs found in storage units in Wilmington and Pennsylvania will stay in jail.

A federal judge in Philadelphia ruled today to keep Merchenthaler, 42, behind bars, the Philadelphia Inquirer reports.

Merchenthaler is charged in an alleged Ponzi scheme in Pennsylvania. He pleaded not guilty to wire fraud, identity theft, money laundering and other charges.
