Suspect in Rite Aid robbery linked to several pharmacy robberies

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Wilmington Police say they’ve made an arrest in a pharmacy armed robbery.

They say the incident happened at the Rite Aid at 4502 Shipyard Boulevard, which is the one near College Road, before 11 a.m. today.

Police say Jason Stash, 35, has been charged with six counts of robbery with a dangerous weapon charges. Investigators say he’s suspected of committing six different pharmacy robberies since April of 2014. Those robbery locations include – Rite Aid, Walgreens, CVS and Kings Pharmacy.

Police say Stash used a gun in the incident and took prescription drugs in today’s robbery.

Dispatchers say several schools were briefly on lockdown, including Roland-Grise Middle School, Holly Tree Elementary and Hoggard High School.
