Suspect sought in donation jar theft

CAROLINA BEACH, NC (WWAY) — Carolina Beach Police are asking for help identifying a man wanted for stealing donation jar from a restaurant last month.

Police say just before 9 p.m. on Sept 13, an unknown white male walked into the Pizza Hut at 1401 N. Lake Park Blvd. and grabbed a donation jar. they say he ran out of the business and left in a four-door gray passenger vehicle.

The jar was being used to collect donations for Light the Night Walk, which is a fundraiser benefiting the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) and their funding of research to find blood cancer cures.
